A rainy day I enjoyed a lot!
Today it was a rainy day, which is the weather I love most. It was afterschool and I wanted to linger in the environment a little longer before I continued heading home.
There's this cafe I used to like which closed a year back, the room of that cafe was walled up for a long time so I decided to take a look. I went and I learnt that it had become a small little hotpot restaurant. Nice!
Then, I was ready to go back to my walk-back-home route, but I thought "I am near my current favorite, overpriced cafe anyways, and it's raining, I can't miss out on this!"
So, I went to the cafe and entered. As usual, the cafe door got a bit stuck when half-opened. I said "Oh, it's still stuck." and the register lady responded with "Yeah, it is. Anyways, what would you like to order?"
"A take-away long black please :)"
"Hot or cold?"
"Hot."
"Do you have a card? :)"
"Yes I do :), lemme pay first"
I paid and then gave the card to the lady to put a stamp on. Then I waited.
The atmosphere was awesome, it was a bit dark outside, the reflections on the wet floor made the mundane car lights and streetlamps beautiful. The warm, cozy little cafe was playing so lofi-like music indoors, there was an old lady with a beautiful cuckatoo with a gradient of pink near its end of its tail, seated outside one of the cafe's patio.
I stood there and watched, then, the lady said the order was ready, I thanked them, took the long black and left.
On the way home, the atmosphere was still wonderful. I hate summer and the one and only thing that can get me to enjoy are these cool, rainy days. And I must say, that take-out coffee cup was the best paper cup I've ever seen. The lid was firm and the paper it was made with didn't get soaked and soggy from the coffee, the lid was also part of a flap at the lid instead of a weak hat-shaped lid that would detach from the mildest soggyness. I was admiring it the entire way home.
The long black, my second time drinking it from this cafe, tasted even better than I remembered. It barely had any bitterness, it's acidity and mild fruitness was perfect, although the aroma of the coffee was mild, I would've preferred something stronger. Nonetheless, it was a great walk home from then on and the only complaint I have, is that there should've been more coffee!
